Bored At Work?

Probably not as much as these guys:

(And apparently this is an old video, but it’s new to me, and it’s still funny.)

How Are Super Models Discovered?

Unlike Ask.Metafilter, where the questions and answers have more of an intelligent theme to them, the conversations at Yahoo! Answers are a bit more juvenile. However, sometimes you find a gem in the oddest places, like this question (and this is exactly how it was asked): “HOW ARE MOST MODELS DISCOVERd?

ISN’T IT AT MALLS AND STUFF???” The best answer, in my opinion? “Most models are discovered with a magnifying glass. They are very small and hard to see.”

Genius material, that is.

Fark.com Files Trademark For NSFW

Trademork breaks the story that the lovable jackasses at Fark (one of my favorite sites) are trying to trademark NSFW which stands for “Not Safe For Work.” The blog world is all up in a dither, when Fark’s official response shows that this is obviously some sort of hilarious practical joke (or something Drew decided to do when he was drunk). I can’t wait to see how this one turns out.

Another Chinese Toy Recall

Next time your kids are at the playground, make sure you avoid this slide:

(If anybody knows the original source for this that I can link to, let me know — it was e-mailed to me.)

Local Group Wants To Keep Santa Fat

Apparently the group behind the Keep Santa Fat campaign were at the Bend Christmas Parade handing out candy canes, but since I didn’t want to go down there and freeze my a** off to watch the parade, I missed it. Anyway…

The Keep Santa Fat campaign is an effort dedicated to “keeping St. Nick thick.” It’s actually a pretty entertaining campaign with funny videos and news stories, and it is for a good cause — though I do find it ironic that they’re trying to keep Santa fat by running a food drive for the needy.

DVA Advertising is always one for these kinds of oddball campaigns — remember their controversial (but hilarious) where-the-hell-are-we.com Bend promotional campaign? They also did some downtown marketing for BendFilm and Cascade Festival of Music that got them in trouble, too, but, really, I think they do good work — as all publicity is good publicity in this type of business.

Help My Cousin’s Buddy Win The Home Depot Remodel Contest

Home Depot is having a video contest with the winner winning a $25,000 Home Depot gift card to use towards a remodel. My cousin has a friend who’s submitted a video, and 20% of the final score is user views. I actually got a good chuckle out of their video, and I think you will, too:

Be sure to watch the outtakes, too.

Want To Spoil That New Baby Of Yours?

Then pimp their stroller:

Thanks Cheryl for vid.

Stupid Time Killer For The Day

Disneyland welcome sign generator where you can make fun signs like this (more hilarious examples here):

Feel free to e-mail me your sign ideas and (as long as they’re not direct copies of something from Fark), I’ll link them or post them here (just save the image and email it to me — utterlyboring [at] gmail [dot] com).

Update: Here are a couple submissions from Greg:

Aussies Love Their Beer

I’ve already shown at least one Aussie beer commericial, so Ben sends along this compilation of 10 other great ones:

We Need More Politicians Like This Guy

This guy was running for a school board seat in his little North Carolina town back in 2006. He didn’t win, but his campaign commercial was hilarious:

I would’ve voted for him after seeing that.
