Trademork breaks the story that the lovable jackasses at Fark (one of my favorite sites) are trying to trademark NSFW which stands for “Not Safe For Work.” The blog world is all up in a dither, when Fark’s official response shows that this is obviously some sort of hilarious practical joke (or something Drew decided to do when he was drunk). I can’t wait to see how this one turns out.

Why is this such a big story? Common words and phrases are trademarked all the time. Think of “Apple”, for computers and software.
