While this was pretty bad, this was even worse:
WESTLAKE, Ohio (AP) — A bar waitress checking to see if a woman was legally old enough to drink was handed her own stolen driver’s license, which was reported missing weeks earlier, police said.
“The odds of this waitress recovering her own license defy calculation,” police Capt. Guy Turner said Monday.

Stupid Lawsuit For The Day
This is probably the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard:
A Northeast Portland man is suing basketball superstar Michael Jordan and Nike founder Phil Knight for a combined $832 million. Allen Heckard filed the suit himself, June 29th in Washington County Court. Heckard says he’s been mistaken as Michael Jordan nearly every day over the past 15 years and he’s tired of it.
“I’m constantly being accused of looking like Michael and it makes it very uncomfortable for me,” said Heckard.
Heckard is suing Jordan for defamation and permanent injury and emotional pain and suffering. He’s suing Knight for defamation and permanent injury for promoting Jordan and making him one of the most recognized men in the world.

Deputies learned that David Ellis, 50, had been accidentally shot by his friend and roommate, Chester Detwiler, 40, McMaster said.

Investigators determined that Detwiler […] was going to show a handgun to Ellis […] .
Detwiler removed the gun from its case and began walking toward Ellis but tripped over a wooden tack strip securing the edge of the carpet, McMaster said. As he stumbled forward, the gun went off, striking Ellis in the abdomen.

Bill O’Reilly Is A Moron, Volume 2
I’ve mentioned my distate for Bill O’Reilly several, several, several, several times before and his latest screaming actions and rants about The Insurgent, a “anarcho-syndicalist/marxist/crazy” publication on the UO campus, and how UO President Dave Frohnmayer should be fired, is absolutely asinine.
For those who don’t know what the hell I’m talking about, the Oregon Commentator is actually covering the whole thing just as well if not better than the Campus Daily Newspaper. But long story short, the Insurgent ran some offensive images of Jesus, people are mad, Bill O’Reily still doesn’t obviously understand the constitution or the rights of a student press on a public campus, and thinks President Frohnmayer should be fired for not taking action even though Frohny is absolutely correct in not taking action against the paper — though he really can’t do anything anyway. The quote of the day is right here: “Bill O’Reilly doesn’t know the First Amendment from the back of his own hand, which is a shame because he takes full abuse of it.”

Two Local Teenage Idiots Nearly Kill Themselves
I can’t believe how stupid some people can be.
Two Bend teens were burned, one critically, Monday evening while allegedly “huffing” gasoline fumes, when one spilled gas onto his clothes and the other started playing with a lighter and lit him on fire, police said.

Firefighter/paramedics put out the blaze and took Michael Davis, 15, and Lee Helms, 16, to St. Charles Medical Center-Bend for treatment of burns, Koester said. Helms was treated and released, while Davis was flown by Air Life helicopter to the burn center at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, where he was in critical condition early Tuesday.
I just hope these kids never breed.
DEA Agent Shoots Himself in Foot, Sues U.S.
His lawsuit was for “improperly, illegally, willfully and/or intentionally” allowing the tape of him accidently shooting himself to be disseminated. He was giving a educational presentation to a Florida youth group when it happened. I’m sorry, but you, my friend, are an idiot and need a sense of humor and I’m sorry, but if you do something this stupid, you deserve anything you get. View the video here.
