I’ve Been Mentioned In A Book
UtterlyBoring.com (along with my name) was mentioned in a book entitled Buzz Marketing with Blogs For Dummies. The author of the books asked my permission months ago to put a screen shot of this site in her book in a section talking about BlogAds. I completely forgot about signing the permission form until I was digging through my e-mail and saw the email conversation I had with the author a few months, and decided to look to see if the book has been published. It has, so I emailed the author to see if I could get a copy of the book (not holding my breath). You can search the contents of the book to see the screen shot of my site.
If anybody decides to purchase the book, let me know how it is.

More Google Map Goodies
I’ve posted several good posts lately about all the fun things people are doing and finding with Google Maps. Here’s a few more:
- Unidentified flying objects appearing on maps (more info here).

Customize Any Web Page
Let me tell ya, this FireFox plugin has made browsing some local sites much easier.
Rip (Remove it Permanently) provides the ability to point at and remove permanently any item you can select. It provide a flexible and easily configurable solution to removing unwanted content from a web page.
If it is just image based ad’s removal you are looking for I suggest you use the rather excellent (Ad Block) extension and download a good list of regular expression for this extension.
If on the other hand you want the power to choose what content you want removed, be it unwanted forms, text based ads or just areas of a page (or website) you don’t want to see anymore, RIP is for you.
Here’s my rip for the Bulletin and for Bend.com (updated both of those on 5/26). You’ll need to import those into the RIP plugin options screen.
Flash Games That’ll Piss You Off
Anybody actually made it through this mess? I can’t say that I have (but doing it on a touch pad on a laptop is definitely a disadvantage). And if that one doesn’t piss you off, try this one (let me know if either of those go down, as I downloaded them, just in case).
