I’ve already shared my feelings for twitter on multiple occasions. I think it’s ridiculous how people will have no problem sharing stupidly inane thoughts on there with the entire world that they will never share with the world at large. To illustrate my point:
Comments
There is crap on Twitter. There is crap on TV.
There is good stuff on Twitter. Ther eis good stuff on TV.
Getting rid of your TV, Jake? Or being selective?
I’m keeping the TV. There is far more useful/entertaining stuff on TV than on Twitter. The signal-to-noise ratio on TV is far higher.
Since when is it either or? Have you used Twitter enough to know?
I’ve used it enough to know that most of what’s out there is very egocentric and hard to digest. Yes, there’s good stuff out there, but with limited free time on my hands, my time outside my family is better spent a) with things that will better my career and b) things that will better my life. Twitter, as it stands, does neither. I prefer my information in larger than 140 character chunks (which is why I’m not a huge fan of text messaging, either, but prefer it to twitter).
Then you’ll scoff at Time’s cover story: “How Twitter Will Change the Way We Live” http://www.time.com/time/business/article/0,8599,1902604,00.html
