NFL kicker Ryan Longwell is many things (including a former Bend High School standout). But when Wikipedia said that he is married to the late Freddie Mercury and had kids named Skeeter and Dermit, that was news to me (screen shot below as this will probably prompt somebody at Wikipedia to change the article):
It appears that the Freddie Mercury reference was added last month as it was different before. It was changed by somebody at the IP address 69.81.255.220, which is owned by an Earthlink branch in Neenah, Wisconsin. My guess: Since Longwell doesn’t play for Green Bay Packers anymore, it was a crazy Cheesehead who made that edit (even though he was signed by the Minnesota Vikings a couple years ago and the edit only recently appeared).

Weird! Ryan dated, and then married, Sarah Kehoe (now Longwell). I worked with Sarah at KTVZ back in 1997-98 when I was an intern and part-timer, and she was the weekend anchor.
That was about the time Ryan graduated from college and was drafted in the NFL. He would often come by the station for interviews, and that’s where he and Sarah met. They’re still married, as far as I know, and I believe they have two kids.
Not sure which Jr. High you attended, Jake, but Ryan’s mom, Linda Longwell, was a teacher at Pilot Buttle Middle School for years. Ryan and Sarah have always split their time between Bend and Green Bay (now Minnesota).
Anyway, probably more than you needed know. Just thought I’d share, after seeing the odd info about Ryan.
Yeah, if you look at the old edits, Ryan and Sarah are still married, so I don’t know who the heck played this trick. Maybe Ryan is trying to hide some of his family’s info? (shrugs)
I work with Sarah’s sister (Anne). I showed her this post and she thought it was hysterical. I think she will probably forward it on to the family… thanks!

I have some co-workers who have some free time on their hands ;-). They were actually doing research for something else, clicked throught the notable names on the Bend wikipedia entry, came across that, sent it my way. 🙂

Sarah Kehoe-Longwell was caught for shoplifting in the mid 90’s, before she married Ryan Longwell. Think I’m lying? Look it up! She got caught stealing some “personal items” from a store in Bend, Oregon.
