Daisy, Is That You?

If you’ve seen this movie, you know all about Daisy, the sheep. Which is why it would totally freak me out to see somebody in this sheep-loving apron. Link via here, where there are all sorts of other ways to freak our your date, including an LED bra, a meat hat, and sac free underwear.

Mountain View High School Class of 1996 Reunion Coming in August

There’s no actual Web site for this reunion, but I received an Evite for it. Since you can’t easily link to Evites, as they’re user-specific, below is the information from the note. I know there are some Class o’ ’96 folks that read my blog that probably didn’t get the Evite, so read on…

Google Earth Without The Huge Download

Google Earth is a cool toy, but it’s sometimes just a pain to get installed on computers (especially in an office environment). Somebody’s gone thorugh the effort to make it into a Flash Application that can be just used online, and even tied in data from Windows Live Local. Most impressive!

Are Men Just A Glutton For Punishment?

Because apparently more men would pick Condoleeza Rice over Julia Roberts for a dinner date. Have they all just been just reading this book?

Thanks Cheryl for the link.

Local Idiot For The Day

Gun safety is important.

Deputies learned that David Ellis, 50, had been accidentally shot by his friend and roommate, Chester Detwiler, 40, McMaster said.

[…]

Investigators determined that Detwiler […] was going to show a handgun to Ellis […] .

Detwiler removed the gun from its case and began walking toward Ellis but tripped over a wooden tack strip securing the edge of the carpet, McMaster said. As he stumbled forward, the gun went off, striking Ellis in the abdomen.

Whoops.

Central Oregon is Being Overrun By Pervs Going After Little Girls

Let’s look over the last 30-days, shall we? First, there was the MySpace predator. Then we heard all about the Redmond High School teacher (aka “daddyforyoubend”). And today we get this disturbing news:

A Redmond man was arrested at his engine-rebuilding business on abuse and attempted rape charges involving a 17-year-old Redmond girl he met online at the Website Cupid.com, police said Wednesday. Computers were seized in raids at his business and northeast Redmond home.

Am I the only dad who is watching his little girls grow up and is worried about these freaks? Then again, why did a 17-year-old have a profile on Cupid.com?

This Is Bound To Piss Somebody Off

Fantasy Coffins

Even if I were dead, I have to say that I would never have a coffin shaped like a big pink fish, an airplane, or a Coke bottle. But many people would.

Bend Craigslist Clone

Dave is still waiting for a Craigslist to show up for Central Oregon. Though I can’t find any reports that they’re planning on adding 100 cities (do you have a link, Dave?), the nearest thing we have right now is BendStuff, which started up last week (something I’ve been wanting to start, but just haven’t had the time/domain). Obviously it’s not very populated right now, but the guy running the site seems like a nice enough fella (and he’s a local, unlike some folks who own some local sites). Be sure to check it out until Craig decides to open up shop here. If that ever happens and I were the guy running BendStuff, I’d just shut down then — you just can’t compete with Craig.

You Missed One Helluva Show

If you weren’t at last night’s Cascade Winds concert, you missed one hell of show. The place was absolutely packed, our food drive for COCAAN was a huge success, and we had a heck of a good time (and I know the audience did). Playing at the Tower Theatre was probably the best thing we’ve done, despite being cozy up on stage (we had to do the percussion section in two rows, but it worked), and we’ve already reserved the Tower for two concerts next fall as we had to turn people away. But we played great, the crowd screamed and yelled, and we had a ball up there. I’m looking forward to the season starting up again this fall.

I have no idea if anybody that reads this site came to the concert (I didn’t get to mingle in the audience during intermission much) so if you did and want to share you comments (good, bad, or otherwise) feel free to share here!
