Mountain View High School Class of 1996 Reunion Coming in August

There’s no actual Web site for this reunion, but I received an Evite for it. Since you can’t easily link to Evites, as they’re user-specific, below is the information from the note. I know there are some Class o’ ’96 folks that read my blog that probably didn’t get the Evite, so read on…

The 10-year reunion of the Class of 1996 of Mountain View High School will be held in Bend on August 5th, 2006. This letter is to inform you of the plans which are now completed and to request that you send your reservations in as soon as possible. We ask that you mail your reservations to us no later than JULY 22. Please remember – Tickets are required to be purchased in advance – there will be no ticket sales at the door the night of the dinner.

The Family BBQ will be held at MVHS next to the sand volleyball courts. It will take place between the hours of 11am – 2pm. Ticket prices will be $20.00 per family or per couple. We will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, drinks and dessert. Please bring your own alcohol and lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. We have activities and games planned.

We have made arrangements to have an adult Cocktail Party later in the afternoon at the Deschutes Brewery Mountain Room from 5pm-10pm. Located at 901 SW Simpson Ave, Bend (near the Mt. Bachelor bus barn). They will cater passed hors d’oeuvres and appetizers will stationed at buffet tables. We will be taking reservations for the tickets. Cocktail attire recommended (something you’d wear to a very nice restaurant) but not required. Social hour will begin at 5pm with music to follow starting at 6pm. There will be a no-host bar for those wishing to partake.

We have decided to charge $40.00 per person/ $75.00 per couple so we can cover all the expenses involved (Food, entertainment, location, event coordinating, mailings etc). If this is successful we will use the same format for the next time. *** Couples = $95.00 for both events, Single = $60.00 for both events

To those of you who have already sent donations to help us with expenses – THANK YOU so much. To anyone else wanting to send “a little extra” – we appreciate it and will put it to good use! Anything left over will help with the next reunion.

Our former teachers have been invited to spend the evening with us with complimentary dinners. This is our way of remembering a group of fine people and to give them a belated “Thank you.”

** Minors are welcome at the cocktail party but babysitting can be provided upon request. Reservations for childcare are recommended as well. We will have a designated location close to event site for convenience.
