Flying Cow Leaves Two Police Cars in Flames
I could’ve have ever made up something like this:
A cow came flying out of its trailer, sent DPS and police scrambling, and left two police cars going up in flames.
“It was almost hard to believe,” said Detective Sergeant Maureen Watson. She has been in law enforcement for 15 years, and says she “never had a day like this. I mean the best way to characterize this it, is it’s bizarre. It’s really really strange.”
It’s strange because it started out with a truck towing cattle, and ended in fire.
Thanks Cheryl for the link.
Idiot Crook For The Day
If you’re going to try to pass off fake money, I’d recommend trying something other than a billion-dollar bill. Thanks Dave for the link.
Round One Is Over
And as it stands right now, after the first full round of the tournament (round two starts tomorrow), I’m have a small lead in our tournament pick ’em (some of my picks barely won their games today, so I was VERY lucky). As of right now, and things could get messy tomrrow, I have 25 points, but Chris and Scott are just two points behind at 23, and there are 3 others at 22 and then seven more at 21. More points are given for each correct pick in later rounds, so things will start to separate a bit starting tomorrow.
If you’re a member of the group, you can keep an eye on the stats on the group’s page.
Was Anybody At AdFed’s AdBite Today?
According to a comment, UtterlyBoring.com was mentioned at an AdBite luncheon today. Since I don’t get out of the office much, let alone be able to make it to Bend during my lunch hour for a fancy lunch, can anybody other than Jen, who I’m convinced is stalking me (joking, Jen), confirm this?
If you are coming here because of that mention, welcome! Feel free to comment here.
Cheesecake Made With Beer and Bailey’s
I’m not a drinker, but I love cheesecake and might try this.
March Madness Is Underway
So far, I’m 2 for 2 on my picks (and will be 3 for 3 if Boston College pulls it out — that one’s in double overtime). You obviously can’t make your picks any more, but if anybody has already made picks on Yahoo, you can still join my group until the end of the day today and possibly win a prize (there are 18 people in the group so far, so your odds are pretty good).
On a related note, I know the following bloggers are competing in the UtterlyBoring pick ’em contest (if you on the list and you’re not listed here, it’s because I don’t recognize your screen name or e-mail address):
If I’m missing you on the above list, let me know, as I don’t necessarily know too many last names or pseudonyms that people might use.
KTVZ Quoting Local Blogger
It’s actually a good thing that Barney quoted a blogger in this story about Bend’s real estate, as if he just interviewed Real Estate guys around here, they’d say the study was crap as they obviously have an vested interest in keeping prices high. So at least we have a counterpoint here, but I do find it interesting that a blogger (an anonymous one at that) is getting quoted in local media.
You Knew It Had To Happen
They’ve pretty much found a way to create viruses for every other technology out there (Cell phones, PDAs, etc…) so it comes as no surprise to me that scientists have discovered a way to infect an RFID chip with a virus.
24 Hours Left To Make Your Picks
If you haven’t made your NCAA tournament picks where you can compete for a fabulous prize, you have approximately 24 hours to do so (sign ups close at 9:10 PST on Thursday). As it stands right now, we have 12 people competing for the T-Shirt, and would love to have you on that list. Sign up today before the games start tomorrow.
