One In 200 Folks In Bend Is A Realtor?

That’s really sad, but the Boy In The Bubble is surprised the percentage isn’t even higher.

We Had To Kill It

Remember that fish we were trying to treat? We had to kill it.

Update On NCAA Tournament Pick ’em: Now With Prizes!

Yesterday I mentioned that I was starting a Yahoo! tournament pick ’em for the readers of this site. So far, it’s only Shannon and I who have signed up and joined the group, but here’s something to entice you: Winner of the tournament pick ’em I mentioned before will get a free t-shirt from Bend’s Best T-Shirt Shop — you pick the design and size. The problem is that it won’t be any fun if it’s just Shannon and I, as Shannon’s married to the guy who runs the site.

So follow the directions here to sign up, and only folks who join that group will be able to compete for the shirt — so if you don’t sign up, you can’t win.

Disclaimers: Some restrictions may apply, this is a totally informal contest so if something blows up, doesn’t work, totally breaks, or screws you in any way, shape, or form, you cannot and will not hold anybody responsible — including this site, Bend Tees, or anything else on the web — other than yourself. Do not taunt happy fun ball. Not for off road use.

How Much Is Your Blog Worth?

I remember seeing this making the rounds a long time ago, but was reminded that I’d never posted an entry about it until somebody made a comment about it. But as of this writing, this blog is worth $63,228.48 How much is yours worth?

Addicting Little Game For The Day

I got to level three, but got shot to pieces on this simple little Java game.

Join The UtterlyBoring.com NCAA Tournament Pick ’em

Last year, I wasn’t really on the ball and didn’t get my picks in very early, but this year, I’m all over it. Go over and make your NCAA March Madness predictions over at Yahoo Sports. Once you’ve sign up and made your picks, feel free to join my private group using the following information:

Group ID: 68993

Password: jake

My picks probably don’t make any sense, but I’m not an expert at this.

There are no prizes for beating all the utterlyboring.com folks (unless somebody wants to foot the bill for a cheesy prize), but there will be bragging rights, which is as good as anything, right?

Update: There are now prizes! Sign up today!

NEED: PHP SOAP Help (And I Might Be Able To Pay Somebody For This)

This is probably above much of my audience here which is, and if you think PHP SOAP is something you buy at the local grocery store in the health and beauty aisle, stop reading now. However, read on below if you’re remotely interested in PHP programming, specifically SOAP requests on remote servers …

Band Concerts Coming Up

This is for you RSS-feed-reading or e-mail-list-reading folk who have no idea that I just put a cheap plug on top of my site that will go away in a week or so. So for those folks: Coming This Weekend: CASCADE WINDS SYMPHONIC BAND IN CONCERT: Sunday, March 19, 2:00 p.m. & Monday, March 20, 7:30 p.m., Pinckney Center for the Performing Arts, COCC. FREE. Among the diverse repertoire on this concert, the Cascade Winds, under the direction of Michael Gesme, will present four works by American composer Leroy Anderson and a work for solo bassoon featuring Wendy Bloom and a piece where you get to see me make music with Sandpaper blocks. Now that’s entertainment, right?. Info: COCC Box Office: 383-7575 or online at www.cascadewinds.org. Free and open to all.

(Editor’s Note: Now in all the years I’ve mentioned the band on this site, I don’t think I’ve gotten a single person to come to the concert from a post here. I’d really like to change that, as the group is really good, we have a lot of fun, and the music is wonderful. And you get to see me in a tux. And it’s free. So what have you got to lose? I hope to see you there, and be sure to stop by and say “Hi”).

Lego Creations

There are some very cool creations here with this Volvo and this Air Conditioner being my favorite.

Miscast Movies

Some actors just don’t belong in any movies, let alone some of these Wallace and Gromit in “Basic Instinct”? That’s just wrong. Bill Gates as the 40 Year Old Virgin. And I would never watch this one.
