An atheist professor was teaching a college class and he told the class that he was going to prove that there is no God.
He said, “God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I’ll give you 15 minutes!”
Ten minutes went by. He kept taunting God, saying, “Here I am, God. I’m still waiting.”
He got down to the last couple of minutes and a Marine just released from active duty and newly registered in the class walked up to the professor, hit him full force in the face, and sent him flying from the platform.
The professor struggled up, obviously shaken and yelled, “What’s the matter with you? Why did you do that?”
The Marine replied, “God was busy; He sent me.”

Appparently physically assaulting people one disagrees with is what passes as funny here. Ah, but who am I kidding, it would be funny to seen an ATHEIST marine knock a CHRISTIAN speaker on his ass.
This “joke” is an illustration that there is *almost* a nickle’s worth of difference between a Christian extremist and a Muslim extremist.

First let me state I’m not Christian so I don’t get flamed for it.
I think you should all read the story again. If anyone should be blamed for the violence, its the professor.

What if God had directly intervened and knocked the professor off the stage? Would you be saying, “See, God is violent!” Of course you would.
So the prof says, “Show me you exist” and God sends a willing servant to teach him humility and you blame the servant for the violence? How about you blame the professor for asking for it?
And Susan, you obviously don’t understand this at all. It has nothing to do with Muslims or extremists of any kind. Its has to do with the lack of humility in those who think they are big enough to challenge God and win. The point is God sent the Marine. Prove he didn’t.

josh you really think that God telling a Marine to punch someone in the face so hard that it knocks the man out cold is less violent than God just having the platform fall so the professor would be forced to get off?
