You might notice something different about the “Credits” area of this site, and you may have noticed a subtle hint before: Barney Lerten, formally ace reporter at Bend.com, has moved on over to Z21 as the Assistant News Director. You can read the full story and press release over at Barney’s site.
Pretty much everything that Barney touches is vastly improved (heck, there are far fewer stupid errors on this site because of him), and while he’s still got a lot to learn over there, I’m sure things will only get better (they need to keep that weekend weather guy — he’s a riot). I will miss him scooping the city on Bend.com, however. Hopefully Z21 will get something going online so I can link to the scoops he’ll undoubtedly get online there at some point.

I hope you’re not talking about that one guy that talks like he’s a radio DJ. I don’t remember his name, but I can’t STAND it when he comes on! Bob Shaw and Christan Boris are great, but when the third guy comes on I change the channel.
Anyway, from one reporter to the another, congrats on the move Barney and good luck at Z21.
That’s probably who I mean — their weekend weather guy. He’s fully useless as a weatherman, but I laugh my butt off every weekend because he’s just so bad, yet so funny.
Ted Zarris ROCKS! I love him! He’s way better than “have a SPARKING DAY” Bob. Ted actually has a jazz band and plays the drums.
He actually predicts the weather better than both Bob and Boris. Just watch and compare.
I know so much about that place because my boy works there and so does my best friend from college.

I think the blogger thing would be fun. I’d want to do it at a party, though. A party where there’s a computer;-)
But booooooyyyy, do I have a LOT to learn. Don’t forget me while I’m behind the scenes. I’ve had a hand in every night’s newscast so far this week, last night on three stories. I just have to get a buncha training before I can do the reporter deal.;-)
Maybe we could recruit Ted for the Casecade Winds. I hear that he’s just as outgoing in person. His weathercasts have grown on me.
