Why, you ask? Because I fallen into a few hundred dollars (my in-laws got some money from a sale of some property) so instead of buying something fun and stupid with the money, I’m going to go get snipped.
If you need me, I’ll be on my couch with a Pepsi in one hand, the remote in the other, and ice on my crotch.

Wyrd: I’m amazed the amount of men who are so hung up about this. Personally, I know it’s a devistating procedure to sterilize a woman, and we’re comfortable with our family size. I know a couple coworkers, as a matter of fact, whose husbands refuse to do it because they’re hung up about losing masculinity or some crap. Then they force their wives to get fixed. A**holes…

Will you convice Jon it’s not too bad? Please?!!!! I think my hairdresser scarred him a few years ago and he *did* go to a consultation a few years ago, but DIDN’T go through with the procedure when we would have just paid a $15 copay. A year ago, he said he’d do it, but we had changed insurance and they DO NOT cover it, so it would be $954. 🙁
Men do not fully understand the hormonal crap we go through (and still are 3 1/2 yrs after last baby).

Best damn choice you can make. Just hope that you get a really nice, good looking nurse for the final soapy warm washing. It’s the last “good” feeling that yuo will have for the day. And it really get ruined if get a person who lacks a gental touch… Most Doctors are so insensitive..

Congrats on a wise decision, Jake. The last time I visited a new physician, the questionnaire I had to fill out asked “form of birth contro.” I wrote “spay/neuter.” Now you can, too, but I think they only ask that question of women.

Regardless, I’m up and around a bit, the day after. It was quick, and only really hurt yesterday, but today I’m fine. Still relaxing as much as possible, doing as little as possible, but I needed to get online for a few minutes — you know, get my fix 😉

Jake, I had my tubes tied after my last child, it hurt like hell! Took me a while to recover too, much worse than the childbirth. Glad you are doing ok buddy.

I was snipped about 5 years ago, when our only son was 3. After a year of contemplation, we decided it was time (we were quite happy with having only one child). It was quick and painless, and insurance covered it.
Much better than my wife being on the pill.
Of course…we’ve just been recently separated…so if this ends in divorce, and I eventually find another, I only hope she doesn’t want children! I wouldn’t want any more regardless, so…

Men who flat out won’t have a vasectomy are selfish oafs. Most of us with room temperature IQs know that It’s no longer just “the woman’s responsibility” to worry about birth control.
No, these guys who won’t get it done are worried about having more babies. They gotta do their part to help (over)populate the world. They want to have a new baby with the next wife – and the one after that. They want to prove that they “still got it.”
