Woman has seven pink Caddys from peddling Mary Kay stuff

If you didn’t know, if you sell a bunch of Mary Kay cosmetics (and it’s a lot) you’ll get a pink Cadillac (yes, a working, functional car). This lady’s so good at it, she has seven. Link from Obscure Store.

Yeah, now that she’s got all these pink Caddy’s she’s probably too damn old to drive them. You have to sell so much make-up by the time you’ve sold it all you could buy a fleet of Porche’s.

The real story about Mary Kay??? http://www.thepinkingshears.org

Angie says:

Egads!!! Pyramid scheme! Pyramid scheme!!! Run for your lives!!!

Bippy says:

It’s not a pyramind scheme. It is a dual-marketing thing. You buy from the company at wholesale price and sell to the customers at retail price. The difference is your profit. All the commissions get paid from Mary Kay Corporate and don’t come out of anyone’s money. It’s a great business, and I am usually a skeptic.

MJR says:

It is a pyramid, Bippy. Look at the number of consultants in the U.S. compared to the population. While it may be legal, it is still a pyramid, making it a dead end business proposition for the VAST majority who get conned into this mess.

Marykaybites says:

Yes, it is a MLM or what many call a product based pyramid scheme. A downline exists. Money is paid to more than one level for product distribution. In Amway, the distributor above pays you, in MK, the Company pays you. Almost all (greater than 99%) of the people who sell MK cosmetics, lose money.

srmc says:

It’s sad to see that people go around spouting off about a company they don’t even know about. It’s usually a good idea to research something before commenting, because if you don’t know what you are talking about, you risk looking like a fool.

MomFarris says:

my, my, my…. somebody’s been hurt by their experience or knows someone who has! People, if you will look at the reason why some women come into MK…it is to get the products at a 50% discount. We call them “personal use” consultants…if you take OUT all the people who signed up for that reason then you are left with a smaller percentage who got in to make $$. Some of them make money…500 of them get their names printed in our monthly Applause magazine and the bottom of the list starts at about $6,000 per month in commissions…not including sales. This business works when you WORK it… I know, because i’ve been in Mary Kay for over 5 years and 3 of it as a Director. I’ve also earned the use of 2 FREE cars…and they pay up to 80% of my insurance! I average about $2000 a month, NOT including my sales and in June last year my check for one month was over $6,000. I stay home… I get to be with my teenaged son and my college aged daughter and I get to work with wonderful women who have changed my life just by being a part of this incredible company.

It’s NOT a pyramid scheme…look into it…better yet I’d be more than happy to tell you more 😉

Kaara says:

Mary Kay is a wonderful company! However many people fail to achieve success because they fail to push themselves forward to success…Fail FORWARD to success! Nothing in life comes easy, and MK is not a get rich quick scheme…The women how make it in MK do it because they want to make a better life for themselves and their family. If you want to make an informed decision then get the facts first…You can listen to this number for some more info – 212-990-6304!

More and more women are realizing the truth about the sad things that are and have been happening in this company.

Trest says:

There are many that are successfull at the business. it takes time and effort like any business. Its a building process that takes management skills, resources, and time.

Amy says:

When you think about it, aren’t there all
levels in various organizations? Difference here is no benefits and large organizations are of course, salary based with bonuses resulting from large sales. I think legally they are not a Pyramid, however, you have to be careful just how you invest your money. I would not buy the product outright. I would sell and then place the order and re-invest the profit into the buisness. Once you get your clients, then keep those products on hand. No need to house inventory that won’t move quickly.
I think it could be a great opportunity if the business is fostered correctly.

MKGIRL says:

BEFORE YOU LEAVE COMMENTS BASHING ON MARY KAY MAYBE YOU SHOULD CHECK IT OUT. THE FIRST WRONG FACT YOU DON’T GET A FREE CAR BY SELING A LOT OF MAKE UP. THEY COME FROM BUILDING YOUR TEAM. AND WHEN THEY SAY THAT YOU EARN 8 FREE CARS IT MEANS THAT THEY GOT A NEW ONE EVERY 2 YEARS AND RETIRED THE PREVIOUS ONE. IT IS NOT A PYRAMID COMPANY AND YOU DO MAKE MONEY AT IT AS LONG AS YOU WORK IT. NEXT TIME CHECK YOUR FACTS BEFORE YOU MAKE YOURSELF LOOK DUMB IN THE INTERNET!:)

Lindsay says:

you people are just mad because you didn’t get anywhere with MK. that’s no one’s fault but yours. you have to work at it to get anything out of it. don’t be jealous =p
