UtterlyBoring.com is produced by Jake Ortman (e-mail, resume), a 31-year-old dad, percussionist, freelance Web designer, IT consultant and jack-of-all-trades computer geek, living in Bend, Oregon. He created this so that his expensive journalism and technology degree isn't getting totally wasted. I'll chalk it up to a bad back and a bad week;-/ Did you feel going to the moon the first time was a waste of time? Those were the arguments then: "Spend the money on Earth where it's needed!" I presume you've read over the decades of all the advancements the space program found that improved our daily lives. Maybe you believe they woulda happened anyway. I highly doubt it. If we don't reach for the stars, then we're gonna waste our lives scrummin' on this little planet.
