Nothing like a little Journey and Metallica:
Updated on 3/14/10: With new embed code, since Sony pulled the original.
Designed for Apple’s new toy are these new jeans: iGotaBigAssPocket.
It’s silly and stupid, and is over in 10 minutes, but gunning down bears is fun.
Thanks to Slickdeals, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) is on sale for $14.95 today only for a lifetime license (usually $25 or so). Why am I plugging a pay-for product for removing Malware and spyware when there are free ones out there? Because MBAM’s free edition has single handedly cleaned off obnoxious spyware on more systems successfully than any other product I’ve ever used. The paid edition offers real-time protection that goes above and beyond the protection offered by your anti-virus program (it’s meant to be used in conjunction with anti-virus programs, not in replacement as it looks for different stuff). I’d highly recommend spending the money — I just did.
Note: I’m not getting paid to do this (as folks who have e-mailed me suggested) — it’s just a dang good program at a good price. If you’d rather not use MalwareBytes, or want an alternative SuperAntiSpyware is also very good and I’ve used it a bunch, but neither will offer real-time protection unless you pay for them.
I know most of you are probably watching the Olympic opening ceremonies. I just watched the Georgian congregation walk out, and they were probably the only folks there that weren’t smiling, for obvious reasons (video here). I’m always amazed at the random African and other tropical countries that send athletes to the Winter games. Ethiopia just came through with a single skiier. Where does that guy practice?
BendBroadband subscribers will have access to the NBCOlympics.com videos, so I’ll probably be checking that out now and again.
Now, some reading…
gnop is Pong, backwards — you control the ball, not the paddles, and have to move through the levels. It’s a quick game to finish, but still a good way to kill some time.
I actually sent this to Jon last week (because, really, who comes to my site to look for local events?), but wanted to wait to post something here until I knew exactly what we were doing for the concert. The Central Oregon Symphony is putting on a family-friendly children’s concert this weekend. Whether you’re a kid of even an adult, this concert (which will last about an hour or so) will be an educational and fun experience for everybody. There will be music, demos of the various instruments, some audience participation, and a whole lot of fun (and some hand-on stuff afterwards).
The concert is free at 2PM at Bend High School on Saturday, February 13 (the full-length concerts are the following weekend). Hope to see you there!
