The Source Weekly’s RSS Feed

Since the auto-discovery tag on the Source’s redesigned site doesn’t quite work, if you want to sign up for their RSS feed, you’ll have to manually put the RSS feed URL into your feed reader. Here’s the URL:

http://www.tsweekly.com/index.php?option=com_rss&feed=RSS2.0&no_html=1

Now if they could just get individual feeds for their blogs, I could get them onto Bend Blogs (they’re using Joomla for their CMS, so I’m sure it’s possible).

If you’re looking for RSS feeds for other local news outlets, I posted what I knew a while back.

Why Didn’t Anybody Think Of This Sooner?

This is one of the coolest inventions I’ve ever seen: A rechargeable AA battery with a built-in USB connecter that you can plug into any USB port to charge. Just flip back the tip and plug it in. Very nice, indeed.

Dancing Wonder Kid

OK, this may be totally fake, I have no idea, but this little kid (or midget, I have no idea) getting jiggy is pretty dang impressive.

Marry, Shag, or Kill?

You all remember Hot or Not? This is like that, only different.

I’ve Always Wanted To Do This In A Movie Theater

Granted, this was probably a total setup to get a point across, but that doesn’t mean that the thought of destroying obnoxious people’s cell phones hasn’t crossed all of our minds.

Central Oregon Web Professionals User Group Meets Tomorrow

I should be able to make it (might be a few minutes late as I’ll be coming straight from work), but tomorrow evening at Edge Wireless is the first meeting of the Central Oregon Web Professionals Usergroup. Jen has a post about it here, and there’s an announcement on upcoming.org. Hopefully I’ll see some of you there!

More Fun Flash Games

Not much in the way of links today, as I’m just totally slammed with stupid projects that somebody else should be doing. Just the same, Jesse sent me this great site that has links to all the games that have been featured on the digg.com front page. There are some great ones there that haven’t been posted here (some that have) so enjoy!

Local Photographer Published In Time Magazine

<ego stroke>Congrats to Simone at Emerald Bay Photography who recently got her first photo published in Time Magazine</ego stroke>.

Granted, I’m taking Simone’s word on this as the two stores that I was at yesterday had the particular issue, but they didn’t have this story in them for some reason (Maybe it’s a regional thing?). Congrats just the same, Simone!

Multi-Function Coffins

If you have the money to buy a coffin now, no sense in letting it go to waste while you wait to kick the bucket. Get one that doubles as a window seat, entertainment center, or a book shelf.

Google Might Be Indexing Your Passwords

I’ve mentioned before how Google has a uncanny way of indexing things that you might not want indexed, and it only gets more interesting. Google Labs has introduced a new code search feature that is already finding lots of interesting stuff.

Long story short, put passwords on any compressed archives you post on a public space, unless you want Google to index their contents.

On less-than-invasive news, Google now has an XML-RPC interface so you can ping it with your Weblog.
