Hiding images in plain view with CSS3. Only works in Firefox or Safari, and as Waxy points out, this would be good for propaganda.

KTVZ is Channeling A Little Bit of South Dakota

It’s subtle, but a local reader points out that it appears that KTVZ’s FavIcon on their site:

ktvzfavico1.gif

Is the same as the FavIcon for KOTA TV in South Dakota:

ktvzfavico2.gif

KTVZ has their own FavIcon with the little red circle with the 21 in the middle of it, but it’s not there any more.

While I’m sure it’s related to the fact that both companies are using the software from WorldNow, there was obviously a glitch somewhere that will undoubtedly be fixed soon as I know the good folks at KTVZ read this site on occasion (Hi Barn and Eric, nice seeing you both last Thursday).

Is anybody else ready for winter to be over?

Today is my Monday at the office, and you knew it was going to be a long day when I walked in there was about two dozen heaters, dehumidifiers and fans blowing in the office and the carpet was spongy. Apparently a pipe froze in the empty tenant space next to our office, broke and flooded that office with about four inches of water. It went out the back door of the place, and a snow burm that was outside the door basically routed the water like a river right into our office back door, flooding the first floor of our office. Luckily, it appears that the various computer we had on the floor weren’t damaged. I’ve been spending most of my day trying to get things back up and running, but not having a whole lot of luck because the heaters and fans and such keep breaking the circuits that the computers are plugged into. I’m basically moving computers around until I find a circuit that isn’t overloaded so I can get this office back up and running.

So don’t expect to hear from me much today if you sent me an email or need to get a of me, as this is the first time I’ve gotten online all day (and will probably be the last until this evening).

UtterlyBoring.com and BendBlogs.com Site Downtime Tonight

Just an FYI: Just forewarning everybody, tonight at 11PM I have to take the server that hosts this server and Bend Blogs down while I do a deep hard drive scan on the backup hard drive in the server as it’s spitting out errors. Hopefully (unless there are major issues), the server should be back up by 4AM, Sunday morning.

BTW: It was nice seeing some of you at the BendWebCon. If you’re just a lurker but saw me there (I won a door prize, which was pretty sweet), feel free to say “Hi”.

Amazing Wrestling Move

I’m not a huge fan of wrestling, but this is a pretty slick move this guy has:

How Many Ways Are There To Get To First Base?

Apparently there are 23.

“Is there any kind of like…video rental store but for books?”

I really hope this is a joke (mirrored below) as it’d be really sad if this person had never heard of a library.

BendWebCon 2 Is Tomorrow — Anybody going?

If you didn’t know, BendWebCon2 is tomorrow. I’ve been given the blessing by my boss to go attend, so I will be there tomorrow. Is anybody else planning on attending? Does anybody know if they’ll have WiFi?

Don’t Mess With Chuck Norris

You better not mess Chuck Norris — if you put him in a blender than can pretty much destroy everything, he’ll come out with nary a scratch:

If you’ve never seem them, the Will It Blend commercials are hilarious.
