I’ve been meaning to donate to the MovableType project, just waiting to get an extra $20 in my Paypal account. Sold some stuff on eBay, so I sent my $20 and have a recently updated key, so I’ll (hopefully) be listed now (at least, every once ina while) on MovableType.org. It’s a great project, and great software, and well worth it (I’m also a BlogRolling donater, too).

I think I’ve found a few solutions after searching around on the Moveable Type Forums as to why comments on the site are so sluggish (just a bit of overuse of some MT tags). I’m going to be moving them to PHP includes so just single files need to be rebuilt instead. Hopefully that will fix the problems with comments posting slow as snot and the site being very sluggish on rebuilds. Then maybe my host won’t be mad at me for kicking the crap out of their server ;-).

Update: It looks like things are back speedy. I’m still working out some bugs in the comments pages themselves, but my full rebuild just took FAR less time than it used to. Post a comment here to test it out with your results.

This blogs current value on Blogshares is $10,360.04. I somehow managed to pass Neil (though he’s got FAR more incoming links…I need more friends ;-), and am well ahead of Ken. I just sold off some shares so you all are welcome to invest 🙂 (but please don’t see that as a sign that I’m trying to hide something by selling off my shares in my own blog — I just wanted to see what the public could do with them).

I better watch out, though: If Neil posts on B&B anymore, he’ll probably get double what I have now.

I’ve been wondering why my daily e-mails hadn’t been getting sent out via Bloglet.So I logged into my account, and realized I still had my old server address in there — and it’s probably been that way for a month, at least.

I’m impressed with Sager‘s RMA department. Four-business day turn-around (from when it left my office to when it came back) is wonderful!

Anyway, I’m back online and I’ll be plowing through my e-mail, and am going to try out SharpMT, and see if I can replace w.bloggar (as it’s an MT-specific blogging tool, so we’ll have to see). I’ll let you know how well it works.

Just an FYI, I’ll be at secret undisclosed location this weekend, and will be shipping my computer back to get some warranty repairs done on it (and my other system is so buried in crap at home that I don’t even know if I can get to it). In other words, posts will be few and far between for the next couple weeks or so (unless Ken and Gregg want to start posting a bit more…guys?). But I will be back and posting more as soon as I can.
