Along the same lines as earlier, the 100 funniest movies of all time, dating back to 1925. There are some great ones on the list, but some I haven’t seen that I need to check out now.

The art if digital photo re-touching
We’ve all seen the scantily-clad cover shots on various mens magazines on the shelf, but did you ever stop to think what things looked like before the photo was run through the wringer? Check out this before and after comparison to see what can be done, and check out the site owner’s archive of before/after presentations. Link via b3ta.
Biggest movie bombs
At least according to MSN. Such winners as Ishtar, Howard The Duck, and The Postman. These weren’t necessarily the worst movies of all-time, but ones that had gigantic budgets, but didn’t make much money.
What is a lesbian-couple supposed to do if they want kids?
They go to a site with a great name Man Not Included. I wonder if they pay for donors? I know I could use the extra cash ;-).
(I’m sure I’m going to get some random hits for putting the words “lesbian” in my title. I’ve always wanted to say “lesbian” in a title, and I’m sure if I throw the words “porn” and “sex” in this message, I’ll get more completely useless hits.)
“You need a license to operate that computer, ma’am.”
If things were up to John Dvorak, computer users would have to have a license to operate their computer. It’s an interesting, and well-supported, idea, and I’m sure it would save me the trouble of having to deal with morons all the time (of course, many of those folks I charge money for fixing their systems, so maybe I don’t want them to be trained 😉 ). Regardless, it certainly would slow down the spread of viruses, like this SoBig bastard that has made a return recently, of which I’ve received 160 copies of in the last 24 hours.
It’s still a worm, but it’s a good worm
News.com reports that a new variant of the original MSBlast worm is doing good deeds. It applies a patch for the vulnerability that it and other MSBlast worms use to infect Windows systems.
While this is all nice and peachy, but the fact remains that it’s a worm, and it will continue to clog the arteries of the ‘net. But at least it’s doing some good.
Search for your favorite Web sites and do your math homework, in one place
Google now has a built-in calculator. I don’t know how useful this would be, but you can’t blame Google for adding new features (as long as it doesn’t slow down my searches). Personally, when I need some quick calculations, I just pop the equation into my Dave’s Quick Search Deskbar, and it takes care of it for me.
How the car selling process really works
A fascinating read from k5 entitled “Selling cars in the U.S. – the inside scoop.” It was written by someone who was a car salesman for 4-months, and describes, in great detail, what really happens at a dealership. Link (and previous one as well) from BBspot.
This is all in a medical database?
From MetaFilter, no matter what you’re looking for, you’ll probably find something interesting in the absolutely free 12 million article database, PubMed. For example: Duct tape. Webbed penii. The obvious. Memory and castration. Kroger store-brand pasta sauce. Killer pancakes.
This site has got a bunch of wacky stuff.
Computers are making their way into every classroom
But teachers still don’t know how to a) Use them, or b) incorporate them into lessons. Most of them just sit there. Full Story.
