Thanks to Firefox’s large extension library, you can get most of it’s cool features in Firefox (heck, you can get most of Safari’s best features in Firefox, too). Since there’s really no major performance difference between Chrome and Firefox, I’ll be sticking to Firefox, thanks (especially since some of the features in Chrome will probably end up in Firefox at some point anyway).

I feel pretty much the same. When you have thousands of geeks working on extensions and add-ons that cater to those little things you love, why change?
No major performance difference?
Chrome/Webkit seems to render significantly faster for me. It also doesn’t slow down like FF does after the browser has been open for several days, which was a design goal. Chrome actually keeps a list of pointers to allocated memory, so it knows what to free, where FF just randomly trolls through the heap, and may or may not free memory.
Chrome’s javascript is also lightspeed compared to firefox 3.0. Way, way, way faster. No comparison. Everybody’s benchmarks show huge differences.
Firefox 3.1 introduces a virtual machine for javascript (just like Chrome) and depending on whose benchmarks you read, Chrome’s V8 is slightly faster, or Firefox’s Tracemonkey/Spidermonkey is slightly faster. So in reality they are on par….
Actually the only people that have come out with FF 3.1 benchmarks show it faster are Mozilla themselves.
Google tried to do the right thing with their browser, and it really shows in the beta. IMHO
I did the d/l and tried it out,as others pointed out its speed is the basis for actually even thinking about using another browser * I use FF 3…and right now couldn’t get to comments from main page..dunno why,so I am on safari for windows…I did hear word that chrome actually keeps more of your info,a keylogger of sorts..anyone care to let me in on this part [ apparently it even saves info even if you don’t hit “enter” on any pages]..for now it’s sleek style and as it is a beta there’s lots more to be “added” to it..for the record…it wasn’t until recently that I decided to change a theme on FF..what’s with the pay for theme stuff and login required to obtain some themes??..I have been out of the loop and am just finding these things out…
post script..I couldn’t even click on the google ads on left column using FF tonight…I have nothing blocking….what’s with that?
