I Might Get Arrested For This

I frequently hold my daughters’ hands when we’re outside or walking somewhere. They actually ask to hold my hands.

But apparently that’s something sexual predators do, and I could be reported for it.

I love it how the good parents get picked on and jackass parents like these morons are still allowed to procreate.

Yeah this is utterly pathetic of them. Don’t get me wrong, child abuse is a major issue and we need to do all we can to prevent it. I am only 20 and don’t have any kids of my own so this really isnt much of an issue for me, but I remember as a child I was a major hand-holder, I always wanted to hold my grandparents or parents hand while walking, its reassuring I guess to children, and probably safer for them too (when walking along busy roads).

My husband and I have a beautiful 7 year old daughter, who happens to be adopted and doesn’t have the same skin color as we do. I sure hope people don’t call the police every time he helps her cross the street, hand in hand!

seems like this would be an issue that would unite very diverse organizations. I can see both “family values” groups and ACLU type groups fighting this.
Personally, I think this is one of the most stupid things I’ve ever heard of. How did this get out of committee? Who approved it?

This is a sad commentary on our society. On the one hand, we preach how important a father’s role in a childs life is- then we do our best to restrict the amount of affection the children can get from them?

When i was a little girl, my godfather used to walk with me hand in hand. Up untill i was about 12 we used to hold hands, and then when i hit 13 it wasn’t okay anymore. It was confusing as a kid i didnt understand. My mother used to tell me that people would think that we were dating. WHO ON EARTH WOULD THINK A 13 YR OLD GIRL WOULD BE WITH A 45 YR OLD MAN. It obviously looked like he was my loving father.
Personally, i think the world is losing its mind.
