Remember the California father and son who were arrested in that nasty hit-and-run a month ago (solicited lots of comments on this site)? Well, the story gets weirder: The father, George Goodson, who allegedly helped his son and buddies dispose of the car that was involved in the incident, was found dead in a Bend hotel room. Unfortunately, there’s no story on KTVZ.com yet that I can see (correct me if I’m wrong, Barney), and the Bulletin’s story isn’t a freebie, so I can’t really point you anywhere to read this. (If somebody at the Bulletin’s reading this, which I know you are, can you get that story unlocked?) The Bend Weekly has a story here.
Just the same the brief story basically says that the death is still under investigation — not calling it a suicide or a homicide, so this just puts another twist in this already oddball story.

Go to hell Noby. Why don’t you wait until you find out what really happened before you say terrible things. Him and his son were talked about so harshly for doing something awful, but there you are, saying that if a man took his own life it was a good thing. You know what the best thing would be? It would be you letting me know when you get some morals and self respect.
we’ll know more when autopsey results come back, hopefully by next week… but, maybe the pressure of murder and a cover-up was too much for him?-whether it was intentional or an accident. We don’t need this kind of drama in Bend.
2 weeks for the autopsy. And this kind of drama happens everywhere eventually. You dont need it in Bend, no one needs this kind of drama. But thanks for being polite about it. Honestly.
There are quite unfortunately, many hit and runs that go unsolved. Has anyone viewed the statistic of hit and runs when the runner has been caught?
This is a classic situation of something we read about more and more . Christopher will follow through with his punishment as set by the law of the state. He will learn something that had he not been so freaked out by hitting a person not protected by safety gear as is repuired by a motorized auto and had the bicyclist been within the guidelines of road safety, he would never have to trouble himself about the fact that he has killed someone.
