Some People Have Far Too Much Free Time

I’ve dealt with some crazy owner’s associations (they made my dad paint a basketball hoop to match the color of the house), but this is a bit nutty:

DENVER, Colorado (AP) — A homeowners’ association in southwestern Colorado has threatened to fine a resident $25 a day until she removes a Christmas wreath with a peace sign that some say is an anti-Iraq war protest or a symbol of Satan.

Some residents who have complained have children serving in Iraq, said Bob Kearns, president of the Loma Linda Homeowners Association in Pagosa Springs.

He said some residents believed the wreath was a symbol of Satan. Three or four residents complained, he said.

Peace sign a sign of Satan? I must’ve missed that one in Sunday school, but there ya go.

I can’t find the link right now, but I think the HOA backed down and let her keep the peace sign up.

That site that you linked to seems pretty far out there, Jake. I thought that 666, not 5 was the number of the beast. 😉

Well, that’s great!! So their sons are in Iraq?? Maybe someone should try to ssue THEM, or complain about them for being pro-war, I hate it when people say what tehy like, then blame you for your beliefs, I of course don’t really believe a lot, but you can critisize me all you want, I would have paid them 25 bucks, then moved the peace sign to a more visible place, becuase if they allow you to have it, then they might as well see it. And anyways would they rather their sons be HOME for christmas, or do they like the fact that they might be dying in a war??

If I had a son in Iraq, I think that it would comfort me, just the imaginary htought that they COULD be there, that thought coming about, thanks to the peace sign on someone’s door…
