I know Jon and I floated the idea of a PHP user group a while back, but it never came to be, probably because of its too specialized of focus. However, a broader usergroup that encompassed web development as a whole might not be a bad idea. Any takers?

This sounds very interesting if there will be enough of us. I’ll send the word out to some people I know in development circles as well.
What befuddles me a little bit is, would this be a live get together or an online get together, like the CObloggers mailing list? I know my schedule is an impossible thing, so I’m hoping it’s the online kind. :]
I think that somthing like this would be fun. I prefer the In-Person approach, its a little funner meeting with people face-to-face, and gettting to know who they are.
I agree, Mark. In person works pretty well for most usergroups. My employer has agreed to let us use the conference rooms here after hours, unless someone has an idea for a better venue.
