Sadly, somebody will end up buying it. This home is for sale by owner on the corner of 6th and Olney in Bend:
What you can’t see very well in the picture is that the asking price is $250,000. The home, at the most, is 600 square-feet, on a stupidly busy road, and is probably the cheapest thing for sale in Bend’s city limits. It will undoubtedly be bulldozed and a three story townhome put in its place. I think this guy needs a t-shirt.

You think that’s surprizing? Have you seen real estate prices in this country?
A quick search in this town of Soest, The Netherlands gives us slightly-less-shitty homes, like this one for the same price. And Soest is a quiet, rural town. Good luck finding anything better than a simple two-room, fifth-floor appartment in Amsterdam.
Although I must say that that shack looks pretty crappy, and you can hardly find less than 600 sq. ft. How big is the yard? That’s really what you paying for in Holland.
I’d buy that for a dollar.
I might buy it for $10 (just so I can resell it for a zillion dollars).
It has a small back yard. Whats hysterical is the house was recently painted, excluding the entire east side of the house which is completely original paint. Pretty tacky. But I think Jakes right, its a tear down by modern standards. We east siders have officially joined the overpriced west side prices.
Hey – look on the bright side. In the Bay Area, this house would have had a price tag of 500k – and it would have sold.
That house has a huge yard. Someone will tear it down and build three.
