KTVZ Debuts New Site

It’s at NewsChannel21.com (Barney says ktvz.com will redirect there, too, when they get the email address at that domain all setup properly so that when they move things it doesn’t bulldoze them).

Thoughts? Quick impressions (I’m nursing a bit of a cold, so can’t really dig through it too much) are that is obviously far better than their site before (which wasn’t really a site), the design isn’t half-bad, and it doesn’t have any annoying pop-ups like other local media outlets. So…so far so good.

Meanwhile, I’m going to get some Nyquil and go to bed, but feel free to discuss….

I really like it. I will probably be my new homepage.

I’m surprised! Good content, nice layout… it’s on my morning linkset. Thanks for the heads-up.

BrENDa says:

Much, much better. I like the layout, and the text is easy to read. It’s easy to navigate as well. Nice job.

The layout looks good and it sure is an improvement over the old site.
With that being said, the coding beneath the hood is not so pretty and it’s hardly anything special.

so is this Barney’s baby?

Barney says:

Yes, Yoleen, it’s my baby. I even have a sorta-blog there.
I appreciate all the kind words, folks, and I leave the “tables vs. divs debate” (as our Web guy put it) to the truly technogeeks among you;-)

wendy says:

What a huge improvement over the old site. I love to be able to get local news online, and I hope it will have frequent updates.

yoleen says:

yea! Add to favorietes! Local news written by a reporter I trust! I’ll turn to the website more than the tv news broadcast.

Cheryl Howard says:

Its on the very short Fav list. Great job Barney!

Mark says:

Not bad! Great improvement over the old site, and better than the newspaper. Weather still sucks though, it’s canned and inaccurate. Would be great if the meteor guys could stick their heads out the door and feed their reports to the site as they see it.
