A man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for fatally shooting his friend through a protective vest on an apparent dare, police said.
Alexander Joseph Swandic, 20, died of a gunshot wound to the heart Monday after donning a protective vest and asking David John Hueth, 30, to shoot him, police said.
Hueth initially told police that Swandic’s wound was self-inflicted, but later admitted to the shooting. The two had apparently tested the vest by propping it against a dirt bank and shooting it twice, police said.

Maybe before you go posting information you should know the facts of the situation…DJ Hueth has 20 prior convictions in the county the incident occured in alone. On top of that he has a history of shooting guns at people…at least one conviction. Also on his list is battery and numerous drug offenses. He lied ahead of time about what happened to AJ, who’s to say he’s not lying now. If you’d like to know more, feel free reply. DJ deserves a hard punishment…he took one of my best friends.

I AM THE AUNT OF AJ SWANDIC. I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO BE ABLE TO TESTIFY IN THIS TRIAL AND SHOW HOW THIS TRAGEDY HAS TORN UP THE FAMILY. I HOPE THAT THE SHERIFF OFFICE IS FOUND OUT AS I UNDERSTAND THAT THEY ARE BEHIND THIS TRAGIC ACCIDENT. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THE SHERIFF OFFICE IS HIRING ADDITIONAL SHERIFFS. My cousin is DJ Hueth. I would say in any other situation that DJ meant his Disire to shoot someone, but Aj someone who i have grown to know as my friend and Dj as my cousin. DJ didnt promote this on his own The 3 of them and not just the 2 did this. They all had a part in this. I grew up with Aj and Dj. They became a big part in my life as well as everyone elses. Aj was a great person and i will have many memories in my life of him. he has been there for everyone that has had any kind of problems in there llife. but as well dj didnt force that gun at is heart and Dj did the wrong thing… i admitt. but there there are two different sides of the story. I love them both so much it is so imaginable… i will miss Aj so much he became one of my closest friends. but Dj is my Family… i cant beleive the jokes and plays that are being played over the air in regard to the event that took place over involvement of this situation.
It hurts my Heart because both of these people have been ridiculed all over Idaho.

I would like to say to all DJ friends that they should have seen this coming. He has pulled a gun on someone before,this is not the first time. Last year he had force a bear cub up a tree, then he shot at it. The bear did not come down so he chopped the tree down. The bear was then torchered with spikes driven in its foot. He then took it to the Lucky Inn bar and bragged about what he did. This was a sign that he is one sick person. He is no good to the people of weippe and should be put to sleep. Save us tax payers the money it takes to feed and cloth his sorry a**.

this is the most worthless website that I think I have ever seen, how can someome who has children sit there and laugh and call someone elses child who was murdered stupid. I went to high school with AJ and knew him very well He was one of the best people that I have ever met he could make the best out of any situation and I wish that there were a million more people like him and a few less like you Jake.
While DJ was wating for his trial. He was out and about enjoying life with his friends in weippe. He is still using drugs and been seen in the bar getting drunk. He made a promise never to touch a gun again. Well it looks like he all ready broke that promise because he was out turkey hunting with a shotgun. This kind of person is not sorry for what he did. He is only sorry that non of his other friends were dumb enough to pull the trigger.
In case someone does not know this but DJ has been planning a shooting with the vest on for over a year. I would say this was a planned murder. Its just to bad that Hueth found AJ to take the bullet. AJ

I AM SHOCKED THAT THE CLEARWATER COUNTY LEGAL SYSTEM ALLOWED THE CASE TO BE TRIED IN CLEARWATER. I AM FURTHER SHOCKED TO HEAR THAT SOME OF THE PEOPLE ON THE JURY STATED THAT THEY HEARD MY NEPHEW STATE THAT HE WANTED TO BE SHOT. IN MOST TRIALS THE JUDGE ASKS IF ANYONE FAMILIAR WITH THE CASE OR PEOPLE INVOLVED BE EXCUSED FROM THE JURY. HOW CAN THESE PEOPLE LIE AND HIDE SUCH INFORMATION.

Yeah, AJ was a nice person, too. But you didn’t see him killing anyone, did you Cassie. The only thing DJ lost when AJ died was the high that he was on. And Sandie, you can’t put anything past Clearwater County. If you could just listen to the scanner you would know exactly how our tax dollars are put to work. Just NARC for them, you can get out of MURDER!
You know I didn’t know AJ or DJ personally but me boyfriend AJ Wilmarth and my roommate Willie Roetch slong with many other friends did. AJ S. was a close friend of theirs and have told me many stories. By what I have heard from them AJ was a great person and all he ever wanted was for everyone else to be happy. Why would he want to be shot. He didn’t want it. He just trusted a friend. They wrote a song in his memory that was played at his funeral. Maybe DJ doesn’t deserve to spend long term in jail but he made a stupid, irresponsible decision and he has to pay the price that’s all there is to it.

I find it hard to believe that a 30 year old man can shoot a 20 year old man at point blank range, on drugs or not, and not think it’s going to kill him. “I thought it would be like on tv…” BULLSH*T. dj did not force aj to play the role of the victim. aj willingly put the vest on knowing what to expect.accidents happen every day, and though very unfare,if you people had any respect for the dead you would quit hating and try to use this as a positive and teach young people the dangers of not respecting firams appropreatly
