John Ashcroft has resigned from Bush’s Cabinet. Now we just need to get rid of the DMCA, the Patriot Act, and a whole bunch of other useless things about this administration, and life would be good.
Update: Oh this gets better. On the day he resigns, he filed an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, asking it to strike down Oregon’s twice-voter-approved doctor-assisted suicide law. Full Story.

I just have to comment (from the right) here. Please research a bit more.
First, The DMCA
was Clinton’s. I could rant for ages about how much the Dems go to bed with the RIAA, MPAA, etc… Some day you should read McCain’s (R-AZ) position on the whole digital rights topic. He is quite an advocate for P2P, time-shift recording, and not legislating Digital Video recording.
Also, the Patriot Act is time-bombed, which means that future administrations will need to keep voting it in to keep it going, otherwise it will expire.
While the DMCA may have been Clinton’s idea, he’s certainly not the one enforcing it right now, and it’s not under his administration that it’s being used.
And I really do respect Jon McCain. I wish he would’ve gotten the nomination instead of Bush, because probably would’ve voted for him (I’m unaffiliated voter, so I’m not locked into one party like many folks are). I don’t think we’d be nearly in the mess we’re in if he were running things.
I wasn’t aware the Patriot Act is time bombed. Hopefully somebody will come to their senses next time it comes up for vote.
