Not only will it protect my keyboard, but it will get my baby comfortable with the computer (my 4 year old does fine on the computer). If I had a Mac, I’d install this software, too, so that my kids could pound around and not delete everything. Anybody know if a software like that exists for PCs?

What is really funny is that I wrote this same exact software for my baby, and my wife tried to convince me to sell it. I suppose if it is of interest to anyone else I can work out some bugs and make it a little more solid and give it away.

When my first was in the “banging-on-the-keyboard” stage, I thought of a similar idea. It wouldn’t interact with the computer (which I would still work on), but would be a panel on it’s own, which my hands could slip under and continue typing, the kid would sit on my lap and play.
We got those big trackballs with one button for their games… they like it.
Yeah, ill try to get it in shape this weekend. So far its only been about 20 minutes work to get it going….
