Just what Central Oregon needs

Another water-sucking, high-priced, yuppie-tourist attracting golf course. It will be built in the area in South-EastWest Bend burned to a crisp by the Awbrey Hall fire in 1990 — the area towards Mt. Bachelor. Thanks Rob for the tip.

I hereby applaud another golf course that can use gray water – meaning, treated effluent produced by all the folks who are coming here, Jake, whether you like it or not.
And I boo the reverse snobbism so many people relate about golf courses. So many are just pissed cuz they aren’t rich enough to play golf all day themselves. I’m not saying it’s real exercise. Maybe you can just make sure they don’t use decent sunblock and all die a slow, agonizing death of skin cancer, eh?
Welcome to C. Oregon. Heh. Now go home! But leave the wallet;-)

Did I miss something in that press release where it said they were going to use gray water? I’d be impressed greatly if they did. Last I checked, we don’t have any in Bend that do — maybe a couple of the smaller ones. Two of the Sunriver courses do, and Meadow lakes in Prineville does.

I’d love to be out there playing — heck, I could play for free at River’s Edge, and Lost Tracks if I wanted, because I work at Sunray — but I just don’t think we need another frickin’ course in the land of the desert.

South-east or South-West? South-east is my house. 🙂

Whoops….South West. I’m disoriented today.
