Breaking the news before anybody else (as usual) Barney reports that an arrest has been made in the homicide investigation of the fatally injured man in Drake Park. A 17-year old Sisters High School student was arrested, based on information from other students and witnesses. This is Bend’s first homicide investigation in the last couple years.

I’ll never complain about staying overnight at an airport
I’ll never gripe after this guy’s been at an airport for over 10 years. The link’s a bit dated — anybody know if he’s still there?
Look out where you point that thing!
Just in case you’re planning any drive-by shootings, make sure you don’t shoot your driver.

Google May Be Forced To Go Public
Thanks to a 70-year-old provision in the Securities and Exchange Act, Google may be forced to move forward with an IPO, otherwise they would have to disclose closely guarded financial secrets.
Companies must report financial results to the SEC once they have at least $10 million in assets and more than 500 shareholders of record, including employees who hold stock options. Google’s profits are thought to be $100 million or more. And the assumption — reinforced by Google’s Web site, which touts “pre-IPO stock options” to prospective employees — is that the company has granted stock options to most of its more than 1,000 employees.
If those assumptions are true, then Google should have to start making quarterly filings to the SEC by April 30, which is 120 days after the close of its fiscal year.
Reporting companies must disclose the same information to federal regulators as publicly traded companies, including assets, liabilities, operating expenses and partnerships. But they do not trade their shares on the Nasdaq or New York stock exchanges.
Full Story. Thanks Barney for the tip.
Patrick’s Brother Has Been Found
I posted a while back about a friend of mine whose brother went missing. His brother has returned.

It’s kkrieger, it’s a first-person shooter, and it’s a very impressive piece of compact coding, weighing it at a whole 96kb. Most impressive. Link via Waxy’s Links.
Extreme Dodgeball
I wish I had GSN to watch this:
GSN, the network for games, is taping EXTREME DODGEBALL in Burbank. The six-episode series consists of four regular season episodes (each episode features 3-6 games) followed by one playoff episode (four games) and a championship episode where the two best teams in the league battle it out for $10,000! Six episodes will be taped over the weekend of April 17-18 with the championship game on Sunday, April 18.
Did anybody in the LA area catch this? This reminds me of that Gillette commercial with Randy Johnson pelting kids with balls.
What are the odds?
What are the odds that you’re going out to shoot your cow for food, miss, hit a passing car 200-meters, hitting the woman in the thigh? I’m not a betting man, but I’m sure this doesn’t happen too often.
