An eastern Ohio farmer has a unusual solution for those who are plagued by overgrown brush and multifloral rose bushes – a “rent-a-goat” program.
About eight years ago, Carol Kennedy received two pygmy goats from her brother-in-law for brush control on her farm. Within two years, the goats had eaten enough brush to clear a pasture. Because she was pleased with the results, Kennedy decided to go into the goat business.

Sure, the idea of having grazing animals eat weeds is not new. But in Jake’s defense, the story he links to is talking about pygmy goats, it’s a bit different. Pygmy goats are only 40-70 lbs, a lot easier to handle than having full-size goats around the house.

Have a 1 1/2 hr old doe that is agressively butting me continualy even when I am down. I bottled fed her at 19 days old. She has 3 one month old kids. She is not safe around anyone. I got hurt several times. No matter that I have tried to break her of this habit since day one, she still is mean. What to do? Breed her with a bore? Thanks, Julia
