Super Mario Brothers 3 — in 11 minutes

(I’m finally getting around to posting this now that a good mirror is available — if the mirror goes down, e-mail me and I’ll post the video here.)

My favorite game of the NES era was Super Mario Brothers 3. A great game that’s still quite popular. I’ve finished it numerous times, but I can’t say that I’ve ever done it quite like this guy, who not only finished it in 11 minutes, but did it with some fancy footwork as well. Nicely done.

A lot of people say this is a fake, and it might be. Even so, all the things in the video are do-able. I mastered the first level, but it took me about an hour, so i can only imagine how long it would take for the whole game

its REAL!!!..he’s SOO GOOD!!!!!..he’s AWESOME!!..i think its REAL!!..WHOO HOO!!

Bahamut says:

There are so many stupid people out there. Many factors OBVIOUSLY prove this is real and CAN be done. Those who say its impossible are morons, and I’ll explain why.
In the video, h gets the 2 flutes to travel to world 8 right away, and from thn on memorized EXACTLY where to go , etc. It’s NOT really that hard, with enough time and patience, anyone can memorize the game like the back of their hand.
Also, its the japenese version…don’t know why you need to know that but just saying. Was done by a jap too! Too bad…I’d like to be the guy who did it…I’m italian, so is mario…would have been a good coincidence.

I’ve heard rumors that it’s not possible as well, but watching it, I can see how it can be done, though being difficult.

Dragontamer says:

No on seems to understand though.
The site at the end of the video.
When i got there, all that he had were emulator macros.
Basically, recordings of his moves.
Now listen, he slows down the time to 1 frame a second, then records his macros and whenever he does a mistake, he just reloads the emulator from the last save state.
Finally, he is done and just replays the macro off his emulator while recording, and the computer does all his work in full time. Thats right, you don’t even need to do any video editing, its done automatically by the macros.
I can’t read Japanese, but i also heard that he admitted this on his site. Its just there to amaze people until they realize it is fake.
At the same time, i don’t know which is worse,
Spending a week trying to memorize the stages,
OR
Spending a week doing the process described above.

holly says:

how many levels are there in super mario brothers 3?

NoEchoInSpace says:

It’s obviously fake. Just look how many times in level 8 he gets hit with wrenches.

Kuato says:

It’s real. nuff said.

bea rose says:

Even if it could be fake, it is still awesome to watch. I thought it was cool, and I’ve beaten the game like 3 times without using the warp whistles.

Zenni mario allstar says:

yeah i jsut recently saw that and my friend and i both called a fake on it… for example when mario is at the bowser at world 8 he shoots fire balls at him while he is on top of his head. This is clearly impossible because if mario even tounches bowser he will lose his fire power and be small. But its still pretty smooth when he gets all his lives in the levels.

Yared AKA King Mario says:

SUPER MARIO BROS RULE! I think it’s fake.

Zenni says:

Me and Yared are buddies and the best mario players in the world we are just too damn good but when it comes down to whos better its Zenni the mario allstar
