While we’re getting wireless networking, and Bluetooth will get rid of a few cables, if your office is anything like John Dvorak’s (and mine, for that matter) you have dozens of wires in your office — and you’ll never get rid of more than half of them unless they figure out a viable way to wirelessly deliver electricity.

Actually…they can wirelessly transport electricity.
The military has been developing a ‘stun gun’ with a 1,500 foot range.
It works by pointing an argon laser on the target, and then launching an electrical charge down along the beam.
It works because the laser is positive, and the electrical charge is negative. (or something like that…I was a friggin English major for god’s sake!)
I read about this in Wired about 2-3 years ago. It was far too bulky at the time for practical use.
You can deliver electricity accross your cat5 cables. but its for small uses like powering a router and such. Not a wireless thing but still useull in the right cercumstances.
