The Chubby Jedi is taking the video posters to court

This is sad, and I think the real reason we saw the original videos as really funny is we all saw part of us in him — the uncomfortable geek just trying to make a video for a class, and, really, we were all laughing at ourselves. I know we all have parts of our lives that we’d never want videotaped and post on the ‘net for all to enjoy.

Anyway, I told you before that the kid was identified and that money was being raised for him to buy the poor kid some toys for entertaining us all (to the tune of about four-grand). Well, Waxy.org, the site that introduced us to the Jedi, is reporting that the kid’s family is taking legal action against the people who originally posted the video on the Internet.

It’s sad, because this kid’s going to be getting a whole bunch of toys from the Internet community, and now, if this is taken to court, he’s not going to get a dime of it.

OK, I’m a dork

I’ve been wondering why my daily e-mails hadn’t been getting sent out via Bloglet. So I logged into my account, and realized I still had my old server address in there — and it’s probably been that way for a month, at least.

Say it along with me, folks: “Jake, you are a moron!”

Now back to your regularly scheduled updates.

Cool Font Browsing Tool

I do a lot of desktop publishing and Web design, and this online font browser will come in REALLY handy. It’s faster at reading my local fonts than most offline browsers. This, along with EasyRGB and ColorMix and I’ve got all the typography and color tools I need. Thanks to Chris for the font browser link.

The Geek Test

I scored a 31.55819% (Total Geek). What did you score? Chris scored a 33.72781%, just barely better than me.

Dvorak Discovers Blogging, Calls it “Next Big Thing”

Jeez, John … welcome to the party. Dave and many others have known this for a long time.

But this is typical Dvorak — while I love his columns, but he’s never been to keen as to what is actually going on online.

PS2 crunches data well

This nifty article from news.com discusses how researchers hooked up 70 PS2 game consoles, installed Linux, and made a supercomputer capable of a half trillion operations a second.

Turns out it’s the emotion engine (their fancy graphics processor) that does a good portion of the magic.

Apparently it takes a rocket scientist to install Linux on the Xbox, which is partially why PS2’s were chosen.

(oh yeah, and they have 30 more PS2’s they want to link up for an amazing video display from the 70 box supercomputer)

First Amendment doesn’t protect public sex

If this ain’t the scariest thing I’ve seen all week

It’s official: Ken is a spoiled little bitch

I’ve been giving Ken because he’s always telling me about all the wonderful new toys he’s bought. I’ve been giving him crap, saying that he’s a spoiled little bitch, telling him I was going to buy a domain dedicated to giving him crap about all his stuff. But he beat me to it: Ken has purchased SpoiledLittleBitch.com for “future use” 😉
