It’s amazing what some good marketing and well-written copy will do:

Cats vs. The Treadmill
I generally only link to cat videos when cats are getting annoyed (like this one), and the treadmill appears to be driving these cats nuts:
Cats are a lot more like people than we think. Their solution to things they don’t understand? They just smack them — just like I’ve seen a lot of people do when they’re trying to fix something.
Cellos Are Awesome, Exhibit B
You can find Exhibit A here. Here I present, Exhibit B (though the dude’s beatboxing skills are as important as the instrument he’s playing):
Sorry about the lack of posts the last few days. I’ve been in rehearsals for the symphony and/or band the last few days (including tonight), and haven’t even turned on my computer after getting home at 10. Will try to catch up on my collected links tomorrow.
Where’d The Japanese Girls Go?
They turned into old men…
We Cancelled Our Cable Because Of Crap Like This
This is what’s happening to TLC (and many other channels, for that matter):
From kottke, Fake shows from the video: 12 Wives, 12 Problems; Dwarf Hoarders; Uterus Cannon; and Hasty Home Surgery. Real TLC shows: 19 Kids and Counting; Strange Sex; Extreme Couponing; and I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant.
I Could See Something Like This At My Brother’s House
My brother is an avid rock climber, and could totally see him bouldering around his house:
“Professional” Wrestling Is Hilariously Stupid
But this wrestling video is just downright ridiculous:
Thanks Robert for the tip.
April Fools 2011
It’s April Fools 2011, and as usual, the Internet is full of stupidity and jackassery. Among funny ones that I’ve seen today:
- Hulu’s partying like it’s 1990.
- Mentioned this last night, but Woot’s Crapshoot to get a bag of crap was entertaining.
- Have a web cam? Control your Gmail with Motion.
- YouTube has added a “1911” button to most of their videos, making the video appear to be old silent movies (with piano soundtrack and everything). Click through some of the videos on yesterday’s dump and click the 1911 button.
- Give your fingers and exercise with Chromercise.
- As usual, Thinkgeek comes up with April Fools products that need to become a reality.
- In an effort to save money, WestJet is filling their planes’ cabins with helium.
- Search for Comic Sans on Google. Watch the typeface as Google’s switching to Comic Sans.
Feel free to share your favorites in the comments below. If I get motivated (’tis my day off, and there are “Honey-Dos” to be done) I’ll post more later today.
Update: A few more my wife spotted:
- Kodak unveils a system to automatically purge an unwanted person from photos.
- 3D Movies make you sick? De-3D them.
- The Anti-Social Media blog suddenly loves social media.
