Don’t Try To Photocopy Your Butt

A New Workout

And no, Barney, I didn’t know the punchline to this….

A friend passed on this exercise suggested for seniors, to build muscle strength in the arms and shoulders. It seems so easy, so I thought I’d pass it on some of you. It is recommended you do it three days a week.

Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side. With a 5-LB. potato sack in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides, and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, then relax.

Each day, you’ll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer.

After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-LB. potato sack.

Then 50-lb. potato sacks, and eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb. potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute.

After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each of the sacks.

Best SlashDot Comment Ever

I don’t read SlashDot as much as used to, but I have to admit that this comment (in reference to this story about nerds being better lovers) made me fall off my chair. Link via Waxy.

She Doesn’t Care About Your Divorce

Ikea’s Help Desk is run by a software bot named Anna (click on the Ask Anna link here). Apparently she doesn’t want to talk about love and romance. Link via Obscure Store.

I used to believe…

“…that there was a totally different world through the mirror. The reason why we couldn’t get through was because the person the looks exactly like you on the other world does the exact same thing. Whenever you poked the mirror to get to the other world, the other person pokes it too, blocking you from getting through.”

You’ve Seen The Paris Hilton Burger Porn

But this video will make not want to eat a burger ever again (make sure you watch the original Paris Hilton video here to really appreciate how disturbing that parody really is). Thanks Barney for the tip.

Corporate Bingo

Ever have trouble staying awake during meetings or seminars? Here’s a little game that will keep you busy.

  1. Before (or during) your next meeting, seminar or conference call, prepare yourself by drawing a square. Most find that 5″x5″ is a good size. Divide the card into columns, five across and five down. That will give you 25 one-inch blocks.
  2. Write one of the following words/phrases in each block:
    • result-driven
    • at the end of the day
    • out of the loop
    • 24/7
    • infrastructure
    • core competencies
    • revisit
    • bottom line
    • best practice
    • strategic fit
    • fast track
    • think outside the box
    • win-win
    • proactive
    • value-added
    • benchmark
    • 110%
    • client focus(ed)
    • paradigm
    • game plan
    • leverage
    • moving forward
  3. Check off the appropriate block when you hear one of those words/phrases.
  4. When you get five blocks horizontally, vertically or diagonally, stand up and shout, “BULLSHIT!”

Thanks Barney for the Joke.
