The question? How to get a can of Coke from 85°F to 35°F as fast as possible (OK, that wasn’t the exact question, but the answers you’re going to get will approach it that way)? The best answer came from one of the MythBusters’ crew.

I’m a Monty Python fan. If somebody were to buy me this for Christmas, I wouldn’t be upset. So when I was flipping through the channels last night and noticed that Michael Palin’s Personal Best was on OPB last night, I had to stop and watch it. While it was entertaining, there were a lot of great sketches that didn’t show up.
So in my hunt for my fix, YouTube was the obvious place to look, but there are a ton of duplicates and copy-cats. So when I found these two pages that provide a bunch of sorted links to Monty Python YouTube videos, I was a happy boy. This video includes a couple of my favorites (neither of which were on the show last night, but could’ve been):
The tech behind this thing is fascinating, but the video below shows it in action and the kinds of tricks that it can play on the eyes.
I’ve mentioned an alibi service before, but here’s a new one that’s built for mobile folks and is free to use. It also works as a wake up call.
If you’re just trying to get out of going work, don’t use the excuse that you’re pregnant. Especially if you’re male.
Thanks James and Cheryl for the links.
Remember that Christmas light display video I served last year that nearly blew up my server? The guys that created it are now available for hire to do custom light displays. Thanks Jo-anne for the tip.
On a related note, as you can see on that past entry I’ve used the YouTube version of the video, even though the quality isn’t nearly as good as the video I was serving before. While I don’t know if my site will get pummeled again with the holidays approaching, I’d like to be prepared if it does. So if you can provide a reliable mirror for the video (which will be used at random), I’d greatly appreciate it and will give you link credit on the page as well. If the load gets spread around, it certainly will make it easier on everybody involved.
Update on 12/03: Thanks to Dan, Henning and Peter, I know have the non YouTube version back up there. It’s a bit better than the YouTube version, and anybody has a BETTER version, I’ll happily post it instead.
…but this BMW covered in chrome is pretty damn sweet. Thanks Barn for the tip.
While I’ve never had this happen to me, I’ve known people who have bought clothes only to get home and find out the nitwit clerk didn’t remove the impossible-to-remove ink tag. Thankfully, somebody figured out how to remove them. Thanks Al for the tip.
When I first saw a commercial for this OJ Simpson TV special (and accompanying book) I was floored, but thankfully it’s getting cancelled. That being said, it’ll undoubtedly end up getting leaked and end up online and the book, which has already been printed, will end up somewhere.
I seem to have a lot of these types of things sitting in my inbox lately, so here’s a bunch of them (this could easily be made into a cheesy newstand magazine cover, though I’d hate to see the target audience for this mess):
Something there should be handy for somebody. Enjoy.
