GoDaddy.com Up For Sale

I have a bunch of domains through GoDaddy, and I wonder what’s going to happen to them if they sell? The Wall Street Journal is reporting that GoDaddy.com is putting themselves up for auction. Which I find odd, as they had revenue between $750-800 million last year, which seems like they’re a stable company — why sell? I manage probably several dozen domains between a few accounts over there, and might consider moving them now.

I don’t think they’ve ever been profitable. With their huge ad campaigns and super low prices for everything, it makes sense.
As far as your domain names go, they should be fine. Godaddy is probably a first tier registrar but your domains are still registered with internic. They aren’t going to let millions of domain names float away.
