What Are Your Radio’s Memorized Stations?

I know I’m probably in the minority here, but I primarily listen to the radio when I’m in the car. I rarely listen to CDs, I don’t have an MP3 player or XM/Sirius. I just enjoy terrestrial radio. Over the years I’m tweaked those six favorite station buttons on my stereo, and after thinking about it, I probably have one of the bigger variety of stations in my six saved on my stereo than most.

So here are my six, in no particular order (some local stations, but some local translators from valley stations as well):

  • KKCU 92.7 (new independent rock/pop/whatever station).
  • KLRR 101.7 (I remember when these guys were on 107.5).
  • KPOV 106.7 (Bend Community Radio).
  • KLCC 88.1 (Public Radio from Lane Community College in Eugene — local translator).
  • KWAX 88.9 (Classical Music — Translator from station based at University of Oregon).
  • KWLZ 96.5 (Classic rock out of Warm Springs — wish it came in better sometimes, as I prefer it over KTWS, as there’s a better variety)

So what’s on your radio speed-dial?

of course, in China.

We mostly listen to MP3s in the car, but when we’re not, it’s usually 98.3 The Twins or Lazer 96.5.
If you can’t listen to MP3s in the car… you need to buy a new car! 🙂

Tony Dow says:

I listen to KRAP. It’s pretty much all over both the AM and FM dials in Central Oregon.

Nathan says:

92.7 (for me)
102.9 (for the wife)
91.1 (for the MP3 Player/FM Transmitter)
and lastly AM690 to remind me of my folks

Houston Radio sucks, but it’s all I’ve got if I want Radio in the car:
106.9 – The Point – 80’s Music
103.7 – Jack FM – NEW – This is supposed to be like an iPod on Crack, no DJ’s. Replaced our only remaining Hard Rock station, which sucks. This station is only a couple of weeks old, sometimes I love what they are playing, other times it just sucks.
107.5 – KHIT – Greatest hits of the 60’s & 70’s
94.5 – KHBZ – The Buzz – This is supposed to be an alternative rock station, but it is more of a non-hip-hop top 40 station.
93.7 – KKRW – The Arrow – Classic Rock, but they don’t play much of a variety, and it is all ‘safe’ stuff, no good drug music, nothing too heavy.
Currently in my 6 Disc Changer:
Shiny Toy Guns – We Are Pilots
Pink Floyd – Dark Side of the Moon
Front 242 – Front by Front
Devo – Greatest Hits
Erasure – Cowboy
Van Halen – 1984
Yeah, I have strange, varied music taste.

104.1
91.1 (for the ipod)

Greg Quick says:

I believe KRAP is nationwide, is it not??

yyoleenoleen says:

i don’t have any presets. I just scan.

Hmm… can’t remember them all (I don’t spend much time in the car) but it’s something like:
92.3 KGON
97.1 Charlie FM
101.2 KISN
91.5 KOPB
Strange that that’s 4 of 6… and for the life of me, I can’t remember the other 2. Oh well.
