Thanks to Barney for pointing out this jump head on Page E5 of Sunday’s Big O: “HP calls ink a key element for printing”. Yes sir, it would be hard to print things without ink.

Great Drum Solos
I’m a drummer. Have been since I was about 12. I, unfortunately, don’t play the drum set as much as I’d like (I play mostly with the Cascade Winds and Central Oregon Symphony), but I do appreciate a good drum solo, and this page links to some great ones along with audio files of many of them. Good stuff, and I’m thinking I might have to see how many of these I can get onto a CD I can listen to on my drive home.
Volunteer Movie Extras Needed in Portland
A friend of mine just e-mailed me this, and I figured I’d spread the word for her. This is a non-paying gig, but if you’re looking to just get some screen time, this might be your chance:
Volunteer Extras Needed for One Day Shoot on “Caught in the Act”(Starring: John Corbett “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”, Sean Astin “Lord of the Rings” and Amy Smart “Road Trip”)
Tuesday, June 1
We need all types of people, 16 and older.
**Please tell your friends**
If you are Available please respond to the email address:
In your email please include:
Your First and Last Name, Phone Numbers, Email Address and Age.
*A confirmation email will be sent back with the location and call time*
This is a non-paid, volunteer position. Due to continuity issues, we ask that you are willing to spend the entire shoot day with us. If we establish you in a scene early in the day, it may be necessary to match your scene late in the day.
The scene will take place in a theater setting. We ask that you wear clothing reflective of attire worn attending a play at a local theater. Please no shorts, t-shirts, tank tops or summer attire. We are not allowed to show logos, names, loud colors (avoid red, white & black) or stripes. Please dress in calm, earthy tones, and bring a coat if you don’t mind.
The days can be long and sometimes there are long ‘down’ times. We ask that you bring things to help pass the slow time (while we are setting up equipment in between shots). IPODs, games, books, homework, magazines, knitting etc. are all good examples of things to bring.
You will be asked to sign a photo release. We will not be providing lunch, so please bring your own lunch.
We will need cooperation while on the set, but hope this will be an educational and exciting experience. Please never hesitate to ask questions. We want all of you to have a good time and a joyful experience.
Looking forward to seeing you on the set!
Heather Jenkins
Volunteer Extras Coordinator
Update E-mail on 5/30:
The volunteers extras shoot date has been rescheduled to Sunday, June 6th. I
apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Due to this change I need to update the “confirmed” list with accurate
information regarding your availability. Please send an email as soon as
possible with “June 6th” in the subject heading. Make sure in the email to
include the first and last names, email addresses and ages of all the people
this applies to and a “Yes or No” concerning their availability for the June
6th date.
We are still accepting volunteer extras, and the new date should allow more
people to participate. If you know anyone who may be interested please pass
on the info.
Again, I apologize for the last minute change.
Local TV Station Screws Up Big Name
Meant to blog about this before. Was tipped by a buddy of mine to turn on the local news. Sure enough, the famed Maya Angelou, who came to speak in Bend on Friday, was named on-screen as “Maya Angelo.” What is she, Italian? Times like this I really wish I had a DVR.
It’s my Birthday!
I’m a whole 26 years old today. I’m going to try to do as little as possible today, and that would include looking at my computer. Back to blogging tomorrow.
Google Confuses Me Sometimes
As the author of GGSearch pointed out to me via e-mail, if people search Google for instructions on removing his software (and nice product, BTW), the #1 result is this entry on my site — which obviously has nothing to do with removing the software. In yet another reason why Page Rank Is Dead, Andrei is having the same problem.
I need to do another write-up about how people are finding this site, similar to past entries (which may or may not be valid anymore).
The Matrix Version 1 a First-Person Shooter?
Makes sense to me. The One had all the cheat codes, too.
Mailing List Broken, Now Fixed
My nightly e-mails of headlines for this site haven’t been going out the last few nights after I tried upgrading to Dada 2.8.13. It didn’t work well at all, butchering the installs I had not only on this site but another one as well. I’ve reverted back to 2.8.12, and everything works fine. Go figure. So feel free to sign up on the mailing list to get headlines from this site sent your direction every night.
Penis Enlargement Pills Don’t Work — By Themselves
Last year I linked to a site chronicling a man’s experiment with penis enlargement pills and if they really work or not. The project is over (was a while ago, but I wasn’t on the ball), and he provides some nice graphs of the change in size of his manhood. Long story short: the pills don’t work by themselves, but if you do certain exercises along with them, girth can improve. He went from 140 mm to 174 mm — so about 1.33 inches longer. Link via Chris.
