Drew Bledsoe Has A Home In Bend?

When news hit the wire that Drew Bledsoe, back-up quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, was planning on retiring, the news kept showing up in my Google search alerts for local news. Why? This quote right here:

"This is something I've been thinking about for quite a while," Bledsoe said last night from his home in Bend, Ore.
So he has a home in Bend? News to me, but apparently he not only has one huge 4600+ sq. ft., million dollar house in Broken Top (Google Map view here), but he also owns a nice piece of land in the new Highlands at Broken Top (Google Map view).

If you want more detailed (and propertly more up-to-date) imagery of any of these properties, the City of Bend has a great GIS Internet Browser (MSIE only, unfortunately) that Jon has some great directions on how to use it.

Yea, I knew about this......I think Joe Montana owns in Pronghorn.

Jake said on 04/12/07 @ 12:14 PM:
And Joey Harrington and Dan Fouts own in Sisters, Phil Knight in Sunriver. Anybody else know anybody famous that owns/invests around here?

I live right here in SE Bend.

Oh, I'm not famous. Yet.

:)

Michael Jackson owns a spread right next to mine in LaPine. He keeps a dandy little single wide on it. Who'd a thunk it. The king of pop is a Lapinoid.

I thought Phil Knight had ditched Sunriver for his ranch out by Terrebonne?

Jake said on 04/12/07 @ 02:43 PM:
Bill Bob: I think it's Lapinise, not Lapinoid ;-)

Scooter: I honestly can't remember. I do know he owns property in Terrebonne (Brasada Ranch, maybe? I'll have to look it up), but I can't remember about his property out here. I'll look it up at some point.

What about famous actors, musicians, authors and other celebs?

Jason Carr said on 04/12/07 @ 04:46 PM:
I can't confirm this, but there have been rumors for a few years that both Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods bought vacation homes in Broken Top.

Oh, I do know of a famous actor connection. Sam Waterston, known as Jack McCoy on "Law & Order," is the brother of Ellie Waterston, who's a local poet, and writer in Bend. She even used to run her own PR company. Sam visits Bend often to visit his sister.

Jake said on 04/12/07 @ 04:53 PM:
If I remember correctly, Sam came and talked at the Tower.

Speaking of writers, I do know the former emmy-award winning executive producer of the Young And The Restless has a house in Sunriver. Good buddy of mine, actually.

I live in Bend.

What?

Why don't we know any one who writes the Days of our Lives script. Now that would be cool.

Bill Bob said on 04/13/07 @ 08:25 AM:
Well Cheryl, you truly do come from a long line of Hollywood stardom. Your Uncles Moe and Shemp used to own the piece next to the Jackson place. And your Uncle Curly made quite a name for himself in these parts in the late 20's. He used to run whiskey from Prineville up to this country quite a bit. Well, I'll talk at ya later, I gotta go brush my tooth. B.B.

After Donald Trump said...oh wait, that wasn't true. Anyway, I've seen Drew Bledsoe at the athletic club, he's got a super sick truck.

Dave Goodman said on 04/15/07 @ 04:49 PM:
Hey, Jake, ask your buddy if he knows Michael Laibson, a buddy of mine who was exec. dir. on several soaps.
