UtterlyBoring.com is produced by Jake Ortman (e-mail, resume), a 33-year-old dad, percussionist, sysadmin, Web developer, IT consultant and jack-of-all-trades geek, living in Bend, Oregon. He created this so that his expensive journalism and technology degree isn't getting totally wasted. In addition to editing this site in his free time, he is the service manager at Weston Technologies. He has LinkedIn and Facebook profiles if you're trying to stalk him. Is Rob Gone?Has AboutItAll bit the dust? The last entry of his I see in my RSS reader was titled "You know... I just don't have time to keep this blog going" and the entry excerpt (don't have the full entry in the feed) says "So posting will be spotty at best during the holiday season. I'm pretty sure that after the 1st we'll be pulling the plug on the AboutItAll.com family of blogs. It's been fun, but I've got to focus on other things for a while..." His site now says "closed. Email me at admin at aboutitall.com if you want to know more." I've e-mailed him, haven't heard back. Anybody know what's going on? He was probably the first Portland-area blog I started reading (along with Jack's), and he'll be missed. 4 CommentsRob Salzman said on 12/13/04 @ 06:22 PM:nothing bad. Just lack of writing ability, lack of time, and a feeling that blogging is too passive for some of the problems we're facing. So I'm hoping to free up some time and figure out ways to benefit my family, my neighborhood, my city, and my state. I'll leave my blogroll up, and of course, UtterlyBoring will continue to be a daily reading stop. Then I'm thinking about trying to get a local initative to make it illegal to trade data about washington county residents without notification started up.
