UtterlyBoring.com is produced by Jake Ortman (e-mail, resume), a 33-year-old dad, percussionist, sysadmin, Web developer, IT consultant and jack-of-all-trades geek, living in Bend, Oregon. Oregon Ducks Hit #1 In Football PollsNever thought I'd see the day when the Oregon Ducks are #1 in both the AP and coaches poll after Ohio State lost last night. When the BCS rankings are released tonight, there's a very good chance that Oregon might be on top of those as well. Not bad considering they didn't even play yesterday. Honestly, I'd almost rather them be #2 in the rankings, as the #1 team has lost the last couple weeks. Hopefully they won't get beaten up by UCLA this next weekend. Update: We're #2 in the BCS, behind Oklahoma. We're #1 in every poll, but 8th in computer rankings (one computer had us #11, one #2). That's probably thanks to our strength of schedule, which has nothing on some of those SEC schools. Or something.
