Compuserve Is Still Around?

Well, it was up until last month, when AOL killed the last remaining bits of it. It's apparently been around since 1969.

I remember getting on there when I used to babysit for my neighbors, who had a computer and a Compuserve account, and playing around on there and thinking it was the coolest thing on earth. My have things changed.

Hey Jake, I remember those days too, as the parent you were babysitting for. No wonder my phone bill was so high! Yeah, the days of 2400/14400/26K/56K modems is behind us. Just for grins, try loading a modern web page like yahoo at those speeds. Your girls will graduate first!

Steve! Good to hear from you. It was a local call (at least it should've been, as we had local Compuserve numbers back then, I'm pretty sure), so don't blame me for your high phone bill ;-)

I'll buy you lunch sometime and will call it even :-)
