UtterlyBoring.com is produced by Jake Ortman (e-mail, resume), a 33-year-old dad, percussionist, sysadmin, Web developer, IT consultant and jack-of-all-trades geek, living in Bend, Oregon. He created this so that his expensive journalism and technology degree isn't getting totally wasted. In addition to editing this site in his free time, he is the IT Director and graphic designer at both Sunray and Discover Sunriver. These Folks Are Downright StupidI had never heard of the Tough Guy Challenge until seeing The Big Picture's photo essay about the race. Holy crap, these guys are nuts. Looking at a couple other feature stories about this event makes me either think A) The folks that finish this are the stupidest people alive, or B) They are indeed the toughest people alive (though I think the the folks who did the Raid Gauloises or the Badwater or Sahara Ultra Marathons might have some bragging rights in that department as well).
