Lawmakers Are Idiots, Exhibit 3812

A Kentucky lawmaker wants to make anonymous Internet posting illegal. And the fines are $500 for the first offense, $1000 for each after that, levied towards the Website operator.

This site currently has 14,695 comments (which is a small amount compared to a site like Fark -- which is based in Kentucky -- that has millions), and I'd say a third of those are anonymous (as I believe on a site like mine, it fosters discussion and I believe in First Amendment rights in that regard). So if this law passed, I'd be responsible for about $4,898,000.

Needless to say, the bill would be hard to enforce, but I can't say that I'd enjoy getting a bill for nearly $5 million.

What a blatantly stupid idea. Does the country of China come to mind when you hear stories like this? Because the Chinese government does this. Luckily it's only a state representative, not a U.S. congressman.

Fabulous idea Inspector Couch! You sir, are a genius. You obviously know of the interwebscreen and all it's amazing uses. Not only will it validate your parking, but it cures cancer as well!

"Representative Couch says enforcing this bill if it became law would be a challenge."

What a f--ktard...

Why are so many lawmakers such jackasses?

The trick would be to find some government website and make anonymous posts about this post..... hundreds of thousands of times.
