Tonight's City Council Meeting Should Be InterestingWhy, you ask? Because apparently at tonight's City Council meeting, there's going to be a vote on a resolution to recommend impeaching Bush & Cheney (City of Bend meeting schedule is here with full resolution here). The guy spearheading this effort used to have a blog here, but it's long since vanished. Will this actually pass the city council? I seriously doubt it. And even if it did, whoopty frickin' do. It's not like the action of a city council in a small town thousands of miles from the White House will have any affect. The guy will be out of office soon enough and while I agree that he's been, for the most part, a worthless President, our Congressional leaders really have far better things to worry about (at least I hope) then trying to get Bush kicked out of office. And that will be probably the last time for months that I will talk politics as I hate talking it, but everybody else is welcome to debate below. Posted by Jake on 08/01/07 @ 10:02 AM

If Bush and Cheney have not committed impeachable offenses, there's no such thing as an impeachable offense and we might as well take the impeachment clause out of the Constitution and change the president's title to "emperor."
