It's Official: The Terrorists Have Won

Getting through security at the airport is bad enough, but now those little security trays you dump your stuff into will now have ads. Link via Fark.

Actually, this is good economics, which for a gov't agency is odd. The companies advertising will supply the bins, tables and other non-electronic consumables....which means that the TSA (taxpayers) can budget less money for these items.

Advertising doesn't bother me that much. If I don't need/want something, I don't buy it.

I'm sure any money saved by the TSA will probably end up being spent on something completely wasteful...but at least someone was thinking outside the box on this one.

Actually, the terrorists won a long time ago. Isn't that the goal of terrorism; to promote fear? (and some political/religious agenda thrown in there somewhere) What is the "Terror Alert System", but a "measure" of our fear.

I think advertisers should be able to hit the planes themselves. You know, like Nascar racing.

I once saw an ad inside a public toilet. Sad.
